What I've learned about bodog is that there are a lot of gamblers that that have money with bodog and feel like having some fun at the poker tables. Which is great for the actual poker players. Even in the large buy-ins you'll find a lot of people who don't really know what they're doing. So I think this is a great advantage for us grinders, but you just have to prepare yourself to take a lot of bad beats. _________________

Bodog problems
Costa Rican based online poker and sports betting operation in crisis over domain name
There’s trouble at Bodog mill, with the news that users are unable to access the site for online poker and sports betting. The domain name Bodog.com isn’t working in poker players’ browsers and punters are being redirected by Bodog customer services to newBodog.com. It seems there is a legal issue over the domain name, which could spell big trouble for the maverick gaming company.
On the new site head honcho Calvin Ayre has posted the following message, along with an apology:
“As you may know by now, Bodog.com is experiencing a technical issue impacting our players' ability to access our website. This is the result of a legal dispute over the ownership of the Bodog.com domain name. We are fighting this dispute. We are confident that we will win, but until all is settled, I do not want our battle to interrupt your play.”
“We are working to resolve any remaining issues on the temporary site as soon as possible, and fully expect to have our original site back up shortly.”

Statement From Calvin Ayres
Owner of Bodog, now with new domain name BodogLife
High stakes, hot women and killer parties in exotic locales; Bodog's always known how to roll. It's all part of our play hard philosophy; it's all part of the Bodog life.
As you may know, there've been some changes at Bodog recently because of issues related to our domain name. We temporarily released newbodog.com a few weeks ago, but in an effort to move to a more permanent home we are pleased to announce bodoglife.com. We reacted quickly, as we always will, so you can enjoy the hottest site on the net with no interruption in play.
Hey, the world changes, and if you don't change with it, you get left behind. We've been leading the good times for a long time, and nobody will leave us behind. Full speed ahead.
That said, I hope you'll visit Bodog's permanent new home at bodoglife.com. Although the Bodog address is changing for good, this is the bottom line: At Bodog, it's business as usual. Same great site, just a new Web address.
What you will notice is, we're still the most trusted place on the planet to get your fun fix, whether it's poker, music, mixed martial arts, casino or sports betting.
This is Bodog. This is the life.
bodoglife.com - BodogLife.com
Play hard.

Overall, we've done fair to middling and whilst Bodog would like to offer us more extras, we also need to improve our sign-up and deposits a bit.
I can confirm though that we will have games there in June, most likely continuing with Friday nights in some format. I'll probably have that sorted out in the next week or so. _________________

I`d love to play but as I said elsewhere I can`t get the client to take the pw. What about an allowed list for the buy-ins? That way I think I`ll be able to get in. _________________

Not sure if they do this but of course i can ask.
Am i correct in thinking you can log into the client and play but the problem is when you attempt to input the password for our particular games ? _________________

For any pass-worded game but yes that`s exactly the problem. _________________

sorry i'm a little late with this, i've litterally just walked in the door (lame excuse i know ).
- The "allowed list" idea won't be possible unfortunately.
- I'm sure you do this, but are you logged in to the client before you try to enter our game. If not, this would be a problem of course. I'm sure you are but it was just a thought.
- The most useful sounding solution was that our rep said was that if you contact their "customer service" explaining the situation and telling them what the password is and the game ID, they should be able to register you for the game manually. I would suggest you give this a go today and see if that works out for you. _________________

lol wish they`d make up their minds.
Thank you for contacting Bodog Poker Customer Service.
If you are trying to register for a privet tournament we ask that you use you account number and not your Screen name or your email address. You must also have been invited and is position of the password to be able to register and play.
Please note that we are unable to register for players, this has to be done by the player from his account. Please try again using your account number and the password from the Affiliate if one was provided to you. _________________

Bodog Poker Upgrade - Resizing and more !
Go to the Bodog Poker Homepage and look for the Bodog Poker Resizing Upgrade, which is pretty central on the page. I tried it out this morning and think it's a big improvement on the old version as you can now see the cards in any size you want by making the table bigger. The detachable windows showing chat, tourney positions, etc means you can set everything up exactly how you want.
Here's the jargon from Bodog :
Does Size Matter?
Download and try the new Bodog Poker Upgrade where you now have the ability to resize your tables.
A Custom Job
Shrink it down or blow it up. Customize your game size to meet your personal playing style while tapping into our newly designed on demand player tools. Don’t let anyone cramp your style. It’s your game, your way. At Bodog Poker.
Feature Highlights
Here’s what you get with our latest version, give it a go and let us know what you think.
- Full Screen Mode
- Resizable game play windows
- Embedded chat and game details
- On demand player tools (like ‘em? hate ‘em? do what you want with them, it’s all up to you)
- Chat
- Game Details
- Stats
- Notes
- Profiles
- Tournament Details
You can currently run both this and the old version simultaneously.
Run both versions simultaneously
Don't worry about the upgrade screwing around with your current version, as it will run along side without any problems.
Minimum System Requirements
The recommended minimum system requirements needed to use the Bodog Poker software to play poker are:
* Windows 2000/XP
* 200MHz processor or faster
* 64MB of RAM
* 800 x 600 pixel screen resolution
* 16-bit (High Color)
* Sound card (if you desire audio)
* 20MB or greater free disk space.
Most computers purchased within the past five years will meet the above requirements.
A Couple of Pointers
- the colour scheme of your table can still be modified as before
- you can resize by pulling from the bottom right of the table
- the detachable extras (larger chat, etc) can be found using the "Poker Tools" tab which is to the top right

So I'm lucky enough to find myself with a bunch more money than I am comfortable having on any site. I request a payout. Seems they do not pay out to the e-wallet that they take deposits from and must send me a check. Ok, fine. It's gonna take 40 DAYS TO PROCESS! WTH. I could walk there and pick it up quicker than that. _________________

New Cash Out Fees For US Players
Well you all know, i've been a big supporter of Bodog but i have no doubt the this move is likely to have a major detrimental effect on US players there. I know there is some reasoning behind this decision as the US govenment has been putting the squeeze on Bodog but this does seem a bit steep :
"Bad news for US poker players who play at Bodog. Citing, "loss of withdraw and deposit options" for US players they have increased their fees for Money Transfers. This is, without a doubt the largest amount of fees I have seen in the industry. No longer can you get 1 free withdraw per month and instead they charge $40 for a $100-$200 withdraw, $50 for a $200-$500 withdraw, $80 for a $500-1000 withdraw, and $150 for anything above that." - taken from CompatiblePoker.com
If any of our US players read this, what do you guys think, will you keep playing there ?
Or perhaps most of you are using the check option which had delays of 40 days or so at the moment ? _________________

till using the check option. Still waiting for a withdrawal from 27.7.08. Numerous e-mails, numerous apologies....blah, blah. I've been putting off making another withdrawal because of my concern. This news now compounds the problem. I guess I'll still play there until the money runs out. It's not like they even have a transfer option for me to get the cash to someone else who has an easier time withdrawing it. _________________

Payments Update
Bodog have finally caught up with their backlog of payments and seem to have everything running back on track. This is especially good news for those expecting check payments. _________________

I just put money on bodog to play forum games. Don't have much on bodog. Are there going to be more forum games there? _________________

it's unlikely at the moment but i hope so in the future. We made about 2 sign-ups in 6 months so unfortunately we generated very little return for those games even though the numbers were good. we felt best to give it a rest for awhile (myself and bodog) and talk again at a later stage.
i still really like the site and have a really good relationship with our rep there, so i will try to see if we can get some kind of sponsorship in a couple of months. _________________
