Hi ,
We all want to get the most out of this site we call, "The Place For Friendly, Success-Focused Discussion." We all want to share our experiences with fellow players and learn more about the game of poker. Like any community, there are guidelines that permit us all to enjoy and advance as much as possible. Here they are.
1) "Friendly and helpful," is the rule of the day. Take the time to write well and communicate clearly. This makes it easier for the reader to understand your comments. Remember that it's easy to offend by accident when writing.
2) Try to stay on-topic and post in the appropriate forum. If a new sideline idea springs to mind from an existing thread, rather than "hijacking" the discussion , please start a new topic; you can always make a link to the original idea.
3) Use a short signature. Please, no War and Peace signature files. Here's a link to a cornucopia of signature ideas. Similarly we ask that you show some discretion when choosing your screen name.
4) Please don't ever make a link to other poker forums, or to poker sites without checking with a moderator first. A list of forum moderators can be found at the bottom of the Welcome Letter.
TIP: No need to put HTML or BBCode bold tags around your URL to turn it into a link. As long as you include the www, such as www.alternate-poker-forum.com - it will be rendered as a link automatically.
5) Promote our game in a positive manner. Inform and help. If your post has some great content, it's okay to weave in touch of self-promotion (just look at any of Know-nuffin's posts ), but overall it is poker we try to promote here not people.
6) "The Place For Friendly, Poker Success-Focused Discussion." The official byline of the Alternate Poker Forum says it all. We are all on the same team seeking to move forward towards success. So... no flames or bad language please.
Big stick rules.
Users constantly abusing this forum can be baned from the site for the following:
- Foul & abusive language on the Forums & in the Chat Room
- Threatening behavior on the Forum & in the Chat Room
- Unofficial third party promotion & advertising
The Aternate Poker administration reserves the right to ban or delete any registered member without prior notice. APF can also log & ban your IP address (preventing you from accessing the website).
But you are such a nice person , it'll never come to that.
Please enjoy our site and pass on your enjoyment to others. |

Well Brian ... You do hold all the power you know? There must be a way for you to manually add 1,000 to your post count ...... I've seen it done before ... but of course haven't a clue as to how to do it _________________ One Deal At A Time!

Now that would be blatant cheating, so unfortunately I cant sanction that _________________ skcuSegreM |

I think you should ban players that consistently go all-in on everyhand, preventing true poker play. It's just too annoying.
Not saying to never go all-in. We all have played tourneys that's the only thing going for the first 10 minutes or so. All the while, blinding while the idiot gets lucky with 23os when AA finally calls him. It's horrible. |

unfortunately you can't ban a player for just being a "donk", although sometimes i wish we could ! _________________

| I hope you stick with your policy, I have been a member of other forums and it seemed that there was about 10 guys that all knew each other and ripped up any opinion a new member had, new members every day and they'd never come back. The only way for a club to grow is to accept new members. I hope to stay a member here and become involved in your league, site looks great. |

if you use some common sense it should be pretty obvious which words are not ok. abusive laungage and even more important, an abusive attitude are obviously out.
.........read the "welcome to the forum" thread to find out more about what you can and can't do ! _________________
