Hi. My questions regarding the rules are in relation to live games, as on-line the computer usually does most things for you.
All of these questions have been brought about by people actually telling the rest of the table, I didn't bother to contest their rule because I didn't know enough about the game to do so, but i did suspect that these facts were just local rules.
Q1. If you make a bet and then some one raises, you are then not allowed to re-raise.
Q2. If you make a raise it must be a minimum of double the big blind.
AND THE BEST ONE:
Q3. You are not verbally allowed to speak the TRUTH about your hand. _________________ Pip |

I can tell you about question 3 I actually done re search on this..
It is okey to lie about your hand. or youcan say I have somethig good in that matter.. but what you can not do is tell the hand that you have durig the play.. but you can lie about it... for instance.. when Jamie gold was playing in the wsop 2006 he would tell people he hand.. and if you would listen to the annoucer they said he can get pennalize for that... Now you wonder why he did not get pennalize. the only way you can get pennalize for that if someone says and speaks up about it.. if you dont say anything about him telling the truth about his hand then he would be able to do it tell someone speaks about it. _________________ Can you spare a medal? Question # 2 if someone make a bet. you are allow to re raise on a standard NO limt game...unless its an incomplet bet. which is another rule iniself
Now.I do play live alot at differnt casinos,,,, There might be a casino that has that rules and that would poably be at lower limit table or it its a house game and the peson who is hosting that game might have his/her set of rulse. By Normal rules you are allow to re reraise... _________________ Can you spare a medal? I need another medal |

Minimum raise and/or re-raise must be the amount of the previous bet, unless you are all in.
I.E. bet 10, minimum raise is 10 (so that minimum bet will be 20), a re-raise of the 20 bet will be minimum 20 (so that bet will total 40).
Jamie Gold was reprimanded for his table talk, before his exit from the 2007 WSOP. _________________

Thanks for that - the thing about the rule not being able to tell the TRUTH is the fact that you have to LIE when you speak, so if you ask someone if they have an ACE and they reply that they have, then you know that they haven't because they are not allowed to tell the TRUTH (still with me so far?). So you might as well have a rule that you can only tell the TRUTH, because the outcome will be the same.
Can you imagine asking an opponent if they have made a straight and they are only allowed to LIE (or tell the TRUTH)
What an idiotic rule, the only answer you can give to a specific question is "pay your money and see". _________________ Pip |

Update :
We have had many questions about poker rules specifically regarding to live games. I have been in touch with author Bob Ciaffone and he has kindly given us permission to publish his Official Cardroom Rules in full at Rules-Of-Poker.net. This is probably the most comprehensive and accurate rulebook available today. I hope you will all find it useful.
