*** SHOW DOWN ***
Turn*** wins 3,530 with Flush, Ace high
Now maybe my call was a bit loose but in these type of games i'm not gonna turn down nearly 3-1 to what could be a steal
(what does everyone else think)
But this hand is not what i'm really posting about
Now i've lost this hand i'm sat with 895 chips with the blinds at 100/200
When and where would you be looking to put your chips in ?
And with what sort of cards ? _________________ Nothing succeeds like a toothless budgie

I'm guessing the turn card was Kc. Do I win a prize.
Looks like you have less than 5bb's left and will pay one of then soon.
It depends a little on the table but with this sites fast blinds, if you get to act first any two will do. _________________

You certainly can`t fold there unless you know your opponent is super-tight and you think he is only pushing with AA,KK,QQ or AK. Even then most tourney pro`s would say you can`t afford to fold. Unlucky way to lose after spiking your ace.
Now you`re short and have to decide what cards to put the rest of your chips in with.
It`s going to come down to position and how likely I think my opponents left in the hand are to call. Early position I`m aiming for A-T or better or pocket pairs. Ideally I`d like 77 or better but I`d go with any pp if the blinds are about to get me again. I`d also consider any "20" ie any 2 face cards.
If the blinds have just passed me I`ll consider any 2 cards if no-one has entered the pot and I think the blinds may fold. If I don`t think they`re likely to fold then I`m looking at the same range as early position but throw in suited connectors and pretty much any ace.
In either case I want to be first into the pot. I don`t like to call with my last few chips. Unless of course I`m holding a real monster hand.
One exception to that might be if there were 3 or 4 players already in the pot and I have something like 6,7s or 7,8s that might outflop the others in the hand and win me a very large pot. I remember a certain game against 3 Bullies where I shoved 8,9s and was called by all 3 and rivered a flush bringing me back into the game and ultimately allowed me to take the win.
One final thing. I don`t agree with is the theory that you should push any 2 cards if you have only a few blinds left and you`re about to be BB again. You know you`re probably going to be called. If you wait for the BB there`s a possibilty you`ll get a free flop and of course you might actiually get dealt a hand in the BB. My goal at this stage is just to survive another round and hope I get a decent hand. If I can double-up I add a little fold equity and I can survive a little longer. Then hopefully I`ll hit a little rush and can get back into the game. _________________

I wouldn't go as far as any two, but with only three hands before I'm in the big blind, I'm shoving quite a wide range if it's folded to me so I can be first into the pot. Maybe 50% of all possible holdings.
Another interesting question IMO is how much to tighten up this range if there are one or more limpers before me. |

Nah I'm cool with putting someone else's chips in in this spot.
Can you tell I'm in one of those moods. _________________
