i'm going to say fold and put him on pocket 9's (trips of some sort).

- makes sense he would want to see a flop by calling your raise.

- a classic check/raise move on the flop.

- and betting out on the turn in case you're still drawing.

i can't believe he would bet out like that with something like A 9 - no doubt you'll end up showing 6 4 off or something.

Tricky one, the pre-flop call could make me think anything from a small pair to a big ace (Prolly discount AA and KK). I donno why but the check/call and bet out on the turn looks strong but I get the feeling they are showing strength that they don't have the cards to back up.

Had you had any time at the table to see how GodRico had been playing.

My choice here is to call and pray.

All is revealed in the spoiler

Spoiler:

When he threw back a check-raise I had that horrible sinking feeling that I`d been out-flopped and he`d made a set. Fortunately I took a while to think about things. He`d limped and I had raised. I thought there was a good chance he had a small pp and therefore it was quite possible he`d made a set.

What also occurred was that he might well be putting me on 2 big cards, AK-AT. If he was putting me on that kind of hand rather than an overpair then my bet looks like a c-bet and he figures he can take the pot there and then. It took a while for me to process this information and maybe he thought I`d decided to try to hit an over-card on the turn.

When the turn is a blank and he fired again I really had no option but to call. After-all if my hand is good on the flop then in all likelihood it`s good on the turn.

I did make the call and he turned over 77 giving him 6 outs on the river. Fortunately for me he missed and my queens held up.

I haven't seen spoiler yet. But, like Harry, I would have put him on pocket 9s. He goes all-in when two clubs hit the board, giving the impression he's trying to ward off the flush. Facing that all-in, I would fold.

Oops, I've seen the spoiler now and you called it right. Nice call.
