Read i had on this guy was that he wouldnt fold if he had any draw and was raising when he hit
He had called to the river in an earlier hand with a gutshot to my overpair
Do i keep the pot small here or hopefully make him pay
muratore

looks ok to me.

if you want to go with the read you have on him, and he calls your flop bet (=draw, acording toyourread) then you have to decide if he will call a push with his draw if turn miss and if you want to make him pay to draw.

or if you somewhere feel he has his flushdraw and you want to be able to fold somewhere in the hand if flush comes, bet less on flop and the coming streets, or maybe bet 750ish onflop, and push on turn

i feel i somewhere lost myself in the logic chain here.. but hope you can follow it better

If you already know he chases, when the turn comes a non-club, I'd push.  And pray that he didn't hit 2pr or set.

I think you played this hand quite well...You coulda played smallball and let him draw out on you without paying..but then you wouldn't be forcing him to make any mistakes and poker is a game of mistakes.. whoever makes the smallest mistake wins...If you give him odds to draw then you made the mistake by not protecting your hand the way you played it you forced him to make a mistake  pre flop and post flop...hell he call a 4x bet w A5 and a pot sized bet on the flop w a flush draw...The turn bet he def. should of called...

All you can do is trap the chasers then hope the cards do  they should you had him set to double you up 2/3 of the time just run into some bad luck.

I probly woulda either pushed after the flop or bet around 700...my reason for the smaller bet ( which if he calls on a flush draw is still a mista0ke on his part) but  also gives you enough on the turn so when you push it isn't an instacall and it would be another mistake by the donkey when he calls..

But what it comes down to though is if you play this hand properly(and there are several ways to play it that have merit) there is a pretty good chance that you are getting stacked by a donkey because in any given poker hand luck has alot to do with the outcome...But continue to make the right decisions and you  get the donkeys chips more often then not...

And I know i haven't said anything Ramster doesn't already know but sometimes even when you know you are right it is still nice to hear it from others..
Know-nuffin

Hard one that Ram; if you're convinced he will chase any draw it may limit your choice.

It also depends upon how the table sees you.

I'd guess that post flop you were 60/40 to win the hand... so with a flush and straight draw out their you either give a free card with which you may be beaten or bet so you can't be out drawn.

What sort of game was it, sng mtt how many got paid.

well, playing a fish can certainly pay you off, but when he checked the flop & called your pot sized bet, you had no fold equity left, so in knowing the type of player you were up against, I would have done the following, knowing he is most likey on a rag drawing hand, I would have checked the flop also, the duck on the turn is a blank, so if he checked again, then I would push...only chance at winning vs a fishdonk, but even then with only 1 card to go he might have called anyways with the nut flush draw, damned if you do, damned if you don't...ul buddy...
