donkey number 2thank goodness this didn't hapen to me, live cash game, my buddy has AA, blinds are 1 & 2, 3 limpers in front, he only raises to 10, 4 callers, flop is K, A, 4, rainbow of spades, hearts and diamonds. donkey bets 10, 1 calls, 1 folds, my buddy calls. turn is 7 of hearts, donkey bets 10, other player calls, buddy doesn't like the 2nd heart, raises to 40, donkey insta-calls, other player folds, flop is a 2 of hearts, donkey goes all in for his last 20, buddy has to call, shows his set of aces, donkey goes wow nice hand but I got the flush, turns over the 8 and 2 of hearts...you could heard the cursingmy buddy let out a mile away...

read both your post about the other player starting with the worst hand and ending with the best hand... i am niot trying to defend the play of the other guy. but is there choice to play that way.. well on your first post you said they got had a lot of chips. maybe he did not put you on that strong of a hand and you said th blinds wre gettig high and if it was getting towards the nitty greety of the tournamnet maybe he wantd to make a move there or say something like your not gonna be able to bluiff me. and sinc he commited 800 chips frirst and you rasie it to 2000 and that was just 1,200 to call and if had the stack it could of been the right call for him it migfht not cost him that much..
now on this post... you said your buddy rasie 10 with pocket aces/ and you had some limpers.. 10 dollar to me is not that very much to call with on a 1 and 2 nl live cassh game...so of course there will be a few limper and then it look the other players bet again. 10 dollsars.. so has already like 30 or or 40 dollars in the pot.. so i am gueesing he has 60 dollar left/.. so your buddy bets with 40.. that would leave him with 20 more
sso he calls... and theriver came in his favor....
I think what your buddy did is kept him in the game.. with the liitle amount of rasie trying to trap.. him..but the other person sucked out...
even tho the peron only had a heart on the flop on the giving him some small percentage of chance to catch something...one thing he did there whic was kinda of smart move on his part is he bet out fisrt.after the flop. maybe he wanted to steal the blind and or see were the other person was. and both people called and cathes a heart. so that gives him alot more out and he is alomost pot commited in away after he bets 10 and then you guy re reaise so he calls and he got his heart and so he won with
the hand he got..not that i would play that way.. but how the guy played that hand i thought was pretty good.
this why if you have a very dominated hand you need to make them pay for it.. instead of a 10 dollar rasie maybe make it lik 20 to 30 dollars.. so you can isolate players.. when you get alot players in then your odds go down and people are able to catch up to your hand..
people are not always gonna play the way you want them to play.. this is one reason why it is good to take notes on players... even on live games i take notes on players... hey its ok if they do that to me once becasue i know next time how they play and i can exploit that
Me I conider myself a tight agreesive player.. i play kinda tight but after the flop and its in my favor i am agressive bettor meaning i am gonna bet big and or overbet so i can isolate my players and it gets me a better read on my play.. i only like to have 1 other person in my hand when i play.. unless i am 100 prcent sure my my hand is the best hand then i would want many player as possibly..and my betting might be smaller.. but I also adjust my style of play when i play with the same people..
have you played in one of our mlp game i think you should..
one questinon about your post? how could there be a 2 hearts on the flop and how coud he also have a 2hearts with his two cards
you said he had 8 2 of hearts and riverwas a 2 hearts its what it sounded like..

the double card was a typo, sorry bout that was eating my supper at the time...
the raise after the turn was 40, that's a big raise for what both had left in chips, to call that raise with nothing to fall back on, even a pair or a straight draw or whatever is kinda reckless dontcha think ???
I can't understand why so many weak players think having suited cards that many times don't even go together like this hand, are a great hand to go with, pre-flop they have less than a 5% chance of getting the flush by the river, and by not having the ace they could be outkicked for it, just makes no sense to me at all...I have a hard time calling to the big blind with no raises with a J6 suited, as an example as I know most times it won't hit...
I agree with ya 100% he should have raised pre-flop the amount you said, he never raised it enough & by the time he bet 40 the guy saw a big pot & went for it...
as for the MLP games, i'd like to play, I have money tied up in a few accounts & dont want to put more out but would really like to play in the free rolls league.
this is a great site, nice to see so many knowlegable posts in here...
