Duplicate PokerI've never seen this before, has anyone here joined...?
Duplicate Poker presents a different kind of online poker experience. It follows the normal Texas Holdem style poker in almost every way except for a few key differences:
1. There are always two or more tables of players. The same number of players are seated at each table.
2. For each hand, an identically shuffled deck is used at each of the table. This means that players sitting in the same position at different tables receive the exact same cards. Each table also sees the same common cards.
3. For every hand, all players on all competing tables receive the same number of chips, irrespective of how many a player finished with in the previous hand.
4. A score is generated for each player based on the net number of chips they have at the end of each hand.
5. A player's final score is calculated by comparing their initial score with the score of all other players sitting in the same seat position at the different tables. The player that has the highest comparative positive chip score at the end of a session wins.
The design and play of this style of poker reduces the influence on luck and places more emphasis on skill. In addition to playing against those at your table, players need to keep in mind that they are also competing against players at the other tables, playing the same cards as they are. In this way, almost every hand can be a winner, if it is played well. Duplicate Poker is growing in popularity and best of all; because this is a skill-based game, luck is no longer the only factor helping you win.

It seems as though the theory about it being more skillful is correct, but the players do not play that way.
With this idea of doubles in mind I wondered if a game could be arranged between members of MLP where partners are picked at random, the game is played for points as usual, but their points are added together to get a final result. I'm sure that it would get a bit of banter going between players.

I played it.. i'm not a big fan..
it doesnt space anything out between the good players and the donkey players at all..
for example, If there were a big pre-flop raise and you have 2/7, the obvious good decision is to fold, now if someone played this on the other table (big raise or not) and the flop comes out 2,2,7 you have done nothing wrong and yet at the same time you have..
I don't like the game at all.
