Enough to make a sailor blush

On the rare occasion when T or I utter a swear word at the screen,   Bumps (our dog) comes over with a look that says, "just checking you're alright."

I find it good and cleansing to blacken the air... once in a while.

My best swearing is reserved for the hands that suck you in with soooooo much promise but deliver nothing.

When do you swear the most. Does it do you any good.

I was raised with sailors.

Seriously, though, I've always considered profanity to be a tool that is way overused by the ignorant.  If you possess a vocabulary that has more than, say, 50 words in it, you should be able to get your point across and the emotion behind it without resorting to something profane.

I am much more impressed with a man or woman who can put me in my place and tell me what they think of my play without using a single four-letter word.

Swearing loses it's effectiveness when overused.  I think you and T have the right idea.  Save if for those occasions where other vernacular simply will not convey your true intent.

I only seem to use profanity when I get beaten and only at home online, cause I would never do such a thing in real life.  Usually it's when someone shows me they were bluffing or when they beat me with something they never should have been playing with in the first place.  LOL  --------- I'm not really a swearer, so Bast**d is prob the worst I would use.   Followed closely by "I hate poker".

It`s pretty rare I actually shout at the screen and that`s usually deserved for something good happening. I`m more inclined to mutter the odd obscenity under my breath. Tbh though I try not to do it because I find it can start to put me on tilt. For the most part I try to remain unemotional, either positively or negatively as far as playing poker goes.

The same goes for any disagreements in a forum. Even if the forum in question is completely uncensored it`s far better to get your point across without swearing. Devolving into a pitched F bomb battle just exposes a level of ignorance/stupidity in the poster or poster`s in question imo.

Hmmm to swear or not to swear, that is the question...

As I never moan about bad beats, I never ever swear

There are a few slow burners out there...

It still counts as swearing if you mutter it under your breath DM.

I find the opposite to putting me on tilt, one swift, "YOUDONKYTURD-O-MORF" and I'm happy again.

P.S. "YOUDONKYTURD-O-MORF" I just made that up, but will save it for a special occasion.

And Rob... really
JR

The only time I swear at the screen is an occassional "WTF" when I think someone made what I consider a really stupid play and sucks out.  I never swear around the Mrs. or other women.  On the golf course with the guys or while driving in my car alone is an entirely different story.
