At my regular home game last night, there was a guy there who has been a regular for about a year who finished in the money probably once. Within the first 5 hands this one came along:

2 people all in preflop;
fish: Kh Jd
all in opponents: Ah Jh - As Kc
fish calls...
flop Jc Js Qc
turn Jc Js Qc (8h)
river Jc Js Qc 8h (Ks)

fish triples up with jacks full of kings

Okay, about a half hour later another player pretty much caught up to him in chips and this happens:

opponent raises 5x preflop, fish calls:
flop: K 6 6
fish checks, opponent all in, fish calls:
opponent: KK
fish: 10 6
turn: blank
river: 6

doubles up with 4 of a kind

It was insane to see the hands he was hitting from way behind. before rebuys were over he had about 20k while the average at a 12 handed table was around 2k, he ended up finishing second as the experienced player tore him apart heads up, when the blinds were pretty high.
GG though.

I wasn't involved in these hands, thankfully. And I finished 3rd, doubled my buy-in. I'll take it.

you let him get lucky from time to time but playing in the game for about a year and only moneying 1 time. I'd just say it was a fluke and try to take his money next time

They probably have been keeping him around for that same reason

Heck!!!! I'd want him to stick around even if he did get lucky every blue moon

JK off is really not that bad of a hand, not sure I would go all in with it though, the second hand he probably figured his trips were good ....... Thats scary I must be a fish
