Help, did I fold when I should have raisedPlaying an O8 game last night, I limped into a hand with quite reasonable cards (A-A-3-3) because the bb had a passion for shoving them all in anytime he had 2 low cards in his pocket, and chasing. He had called himself all-in in against me on an earlier table when he was 10 high on a flush draw and I had flopped a straight.
I had just shy of 2,400 chips, and was around 12th place with 25 left and 10 being paid.
I was tempted to call the C bet from 777ven’ but not when nickel5 decided to play along as I had him tagged as an okay player.
I took my time in folding after the flop with what was the best hand, but wonder if I should have gone over the top.

What limit was it ?
Unless it was fixed limit, i think the biggest problem here is that you haven't made a decent pre-flop raise to cut down the opposition. You had a strong starting hand with reasonable chances of taking both hi and lo so even if he comes over the top, you'll still in great shape.
If you'd raised (and not forced into an all-in), you would have ended with maybe 1 or 2 others in the which would then make you post flop decision simple.
As it is you're still ahead although with a chance of being out drawn by flush, straight or full house draws - however you must still be ahead at this stage and a raise is the option for me.

even if you are behind, and I don't think you are, you have about 12 outs to beat any flush or straight. Raise.

yeah even though they might have hit a straight, i wouldn't have folded, there, i would have raised max & hope the chaser would fold...even though bubble time was right there...what was the winning hand, did it beat you if you played it ?

I`m with Harry. I know AA isn`t necessarily the best hand in O8 but in your situation you`ve got to raise pre-flop. If it was FL I might have been tempted to limp but as this looks like PL you have a decent chance to narrow the field with a big raise..
After the flop, well yes you could be behind but you`re drawing to the likely nuts (only quads can beat you if the board pairs) and I think you have to go for it.
There`s a long way to go before the bubble bursts and you need chips. I don`t think folding was the best option.

Thanks guys, I too think is was a big chicken preflop
It was $2 pot limit format. I wanted to keep it small so I could bail out if the bb went full donk on me.
I'm more keen to see who would have made the call post flop. The flush draw was my biggest worry, as 777ven was chasing them with any two suited, even if only 9 high on it.
Didn't see the river Rob, as the turn bet was uncalled.
