How do you cope...I'm not sure what I'm asking but would be grateful for any advice.
I'm not after sympathy or empathy but what do you do when you're in the middle of a bad run.
After a few days of bad beats from unlikely hands that were played to reasonable pre and post flop betting, (that happens) I've now hit a prolonged dry spell in SnG's and MTT's.
For instance, during my last three consecutive HORSE MTT's I've been positively card dehydrated. If I ever flopped the nuts they would look like shrivelled prunes.
It becomes demoralising to see hand after hand of 2-5 off in the holdem and stud hands in the razz... then vice versa. Even the trash hands I fold would have missed the flop.
I am toughing it out but how do you cope... medication, beer, kick the dog?

well if it was me (now I'd never do this myself mind you) but a little moaning of the bad luck constantly befalling one on the river is ok, let out the anguish, otherwise, you might implode

Yeah the bad beats are tough to take sometimes, my pocket kings got killed by lesser hands twice yesterday.
Beer helps to kill the pain and weed is bound to make you smile.
Play enough tourneys and you are bound to get lucky a few times yourself.

How could I kick bumpy dog.
It's not reload time, I got plenty to play with. It's just the day in day out dross I had for a couple of weeks.
I do practice pools suggestion of letting out the anguish but you know, I am getting fed up with hearing myself use the same tired old swear words.
Maybe I could find some new expletives.
How about I practice the monty python line;
"Your Mother Was a Hamster and Your Father Smelt of Elderberries!"
Hey I'm gonna try that... you know I'm starting to feel more positive already.

I meant kick A dog, not bumpy. I was thinking more along the lines of the guy down the street who hits his wife or something.
Go play some aiof, or find a freeroll and play however you would NOT normally play.

Different things work at different times for different people, so there's no panacea. That said, one thing that works pretty well for me is moving down to a level where I can win without getting my share of the cards. It's harder of course, and not especially fun when all I'm trying to do is to grind out a small profit. However, booking a few wins of any size helps me to get out of my losing funk mental state, which is part of the problem.

When this happens to me I will google different poker strategies and tips and read them. Then I will play a game and try some new strategies in this game and focus on the strategies and not the game itself. Try and improve my skills for winning hands with out good cards. I read an article about Annette_15 winning a tournament once with out looking at her hole cards. She just played her position and her read on the other players. So when I find myself with cards like this I practice my position play and trying to push a tight player off of hand when they raise preflop and the flop is crap like 2 5 9 rainbow and I put them on AK or AQ.

For me there are a few options in this situation.
Take a break. When you come back to play, even if your cards are still less than stellar, you`ll probably be champing at the bit to play and that extra enthusiasm means you`re less likely to bemoan your bad cards and more likely to try and make some plays. It`s easy to get into a rut and really wanting to play can be enough to get you out of it.
Change what you`re playing. Go from MTTs to ring games or sngs. Play something different to your regular game, if you`ve been playing loads of PLO8 for example, play some 7 card stud or badugi or 5 card draw instead.
Increase the number of tables you play. This is the exact opposite of the first suggestion and might seem a bit silly at first but it can work. When you`re card dead it`s easy to get bored and begin to lose focus. Adding extra games beyond your normal limit keeps you busy and stops that boredom. And because you`re seeing more hands you should see more quality hands. (Sometimes just because you`re a little rushed because you have more games active than usual it will seem like your run of poor cards has changed even when it might not have)

Just a little example of my fortune from today's HORSE game when needing to earn.
It did get a little better and I managed to scrape across the line.

I suggest a break with a plentiful supply of beer and video highlights of the Australian first innings at the Oval. Can't fail to put a smile back on your face and boost your optimism levels.
