How do you prepare for live cash games ?For me.. if I perfer to come in the evening were there are already people at the table.. I like to put my name on the waiting list.. thats way I can watch how the table is played and take menatl notes... I like to see how the table is playing.. and what people tendiecies are......I really dont like to be sitting first at the tables.. i like to watch awile before I play.. this rule most go for card roooms or at casinos during the weekdays,,, I notice playing at casino on weekend nights... too many drunks and people are too much of gamblers and seems like they dont care about money so I like playing on the weekdays day or night at a casino and anytime at a cardroom

i spent the best part of my 20's getting together about once every 2 weeks to play a 7 Card Stud cash game with my friends. these guys were probably the biggest bunch of bluffers i've ever been around and our preparation was always a couple of stiff drinks and a cigar !
not recommended but a lovely way to win or lose in a cash game !

I don't play live cash games often, but if it's just for fun - like a home game for small change - then I really don't do anything at all to prepare. On the other hand, if it's a game where the money matters - staying within my bankroll, of course - I remind myself both before and during to stick to my game and to avoid fancy play syndrome since I'm +EV as long as I play decently; if I weren't, I wouldn't be playing.

Easy ... I don't play live cash games. --- Unless you count a casual barbecue with some friends playing 5 cent, 10 cent dealer's choice. In which case, we prepare the meat for the barbecue, bring drinks and beers and have lots of fun. --- oh and bring lots of change. LOL

This will sound crazy, and it probably is, but when I first sit down I always play the first hand. Regardless of position, I will raise without looking at my hand. My casino only offers limit holdem except Sundays so it's not as crazys as it first looks. After that I don't play too many marginal hands out of position so it usually assures action when I do play.
