MLP Sponsored Players ( check this out all members)Having been sparked by KNs idea,
How about taking the winner from each of the MLP league games during the course of a month and sponsoring them in one buy-in game with either all the winnings from each player going to MLP or say 75% + the buy-in donated to MLP, you see the winner of each league game will have earn cash and then can help earn some back for our forum at no cost to them self.
It need not cost any one anything if the cost of the buy-in is deducted from the winning place prize money, and what an added incentive to win the games, maybe even a medal or league or something could be invented for the player that finished hi-est in the sponsored buy-ins.
So what do u think.

I actualy proposed something very similar to this backstage KW2 (great minds think alike!), but it was kind of put on pause by harry. So we just gotta wait and see. Hopefuly it works out though, because I think it would be a lot of fun.

I agree it would fun, and i don't see how MLP could lose...
1/ even more incentive to win a league game
2/ benefit the forum cash wise
3/ benefit the players experience wise
4/ puts the word around and increases our members
5/ more bragging rights
Well lets hope someone takes the pause button off cos this forum needs to increase its cash in flow and this could be good for it, it will not cots the forum anything as the entry comes from the game cash $4.40 is not a lot from the winners take of any league game.

I agree, it would be much better to have entry to a tournament than to win money on a freeroll.
I wrote the same thing a couple of days ago on KN's thread.
There could even be a seperate fund in which winnings are placed to allow more members to enter tournaments.
Good luck to all those entered for the poker stars tourny.

My i dear was u still get ur winnings but a small buy-in fee say 4.40 tourney is used for an entry , all the league winners for the month enter the same SNG tourney together

sorry i haven't got to this sooner, if you look at the calendar today, you will see why - it's been a bit hectic finalizing next month.
......right :
whilst i like the idea of what you are suggesting here, unfortunately it's not very practical in terms of doing this for every game.
often, the added prize pool is sponsored and fixed by the poker room in question so i don't have the flexibility to get to fancy with how this money is paid out. this would mean that to do what you are suggesting, we would have to take the extra out of MLP funds for every game which would weigh heavily on our budget.
in a sense this is why we have set up our Forum Donation system to give members a chance to put something back into the site especially if they have done well from our games.
what i have done to move towards this a bit is change the prize stucture for the next Buy-in League to give the top 5 finishers a minimum of a $10 entry into one tounament in a similar fashion to Know-nuffins idea. we will also have the same kind of thing running for the HORSE League too.
i would love to do more but i'm sure you all appreciate that i have to hold a balance between what we want and want the poker rooms want (to maintain our sponsorships) whilst trying to make the best games and leagues possible for our members without breaking our budget .
if i don't take every good idea on board, it is usually down to logistics more than not wanting to do something. having said that, for a forum of our size, i think we're offering a great selection of games at the moment and i am hoping for even more in the coming months.
.......keep watching the skies !

Yes Harry well said, the KN thing is a good idea and a nice change of pace, and a liitle more harder to put together, but once and a while it would be nice. and that is why the forum donations are important! you find you have a little extra, even $5.00 send it! it all adds up! Im suprised more ppl have not done it? 4As

Thanks for explaining Harry!
It makes sense that you get the best deal available from the sites and they make the decisions.
Have we dropped Bugsys from our games as I do not see any there for next month? If so it is a shame as they gave us some good tournaments.

well the deal with Bugsy's was that they gave the tournament places and MLP put up the added money to each individual game.
i really liked playing at Bugsy's too and had no problem continuing there but our numbers were a bit low last season and we simply didn't get the play through (from rake and such) of players needed to justify a good sponsorship.
we still have our SNG tables (see Propose a Bugsy's SNG) if we anyone wants to make MLP games there (i'd be up for that ) and i would certainly like to look at going back there for a league in the future.
the fact is that Poker Nordica has offered us an excellent overall sponsorship package and it may well be that we increse the numbers in the H.O.R.S.E. League playing on the Merge Network. we'll see !

Harry i think the fact that a lot of the bugsy games were maybe to close to the following games at poker.com and such that affected ppl playing as the may have chosen the later game, + Especial when there were a few strange moments with the bugsy playss i will leave it at that + the midweek games were maybe to late for many players that work, this could have effected the amount of players in the games.

maybe so. as always with these things, what's good for one is not so good for another and actually i wasn't displeased with our numbers at all.
it was pretty much what i was expecting so no complaints there.

Sunday is a busy day for me poker wise so I liked the time at Bugsys, starting at 6pm UK time meant the games were usually finished for my next game at 7.30.
The new time of 7pm at Nordica will be difficult as I cannot multi-table a NoLimit game with a Horse game where you have to keep track of all the cards in other players hands and remember which cards have been folded so I will probably miss out on most of these.
A shame we can't have some of our games from Monday to Friday starting between 6 and 9pm as I am often looking around for some game to play.

it's not that they don't want us, more that we don't have enough players depositing and playing at the tables for them to justify the kind of sponsorship we were asking for.
nothing unreasonable from their side.
as i said, we may go back to them at a later date depending on how things are going there.
