NLHE Cash Game - Whatcha Gonna Do?

The table is 8 handed blinds $4/$8 and everyone is very deeply stacked and the action has folded round to you in the cutoff. You look down at Ah 6h and make it $25 to go.

The button, SB and BB all call.

The flop comes 6d-5h-3d

SB checks
BB bets $77

You decide to call but both the button and SB fold.

The turn is 6s

BB fires out $202

You call.

The river is Ks

BB bets $539

What`s your action here?

FYI The BB is a very loose player who has been getting involved in lots of hands. He could have pretty much any 2 cards. He`s also an aggressive bluffer capable of firing bets with nothing but air.

So is it a call, raise or fold?

I'm calling here

But i woulda preferred a bigger bet pre flop and at least a pot size re-raise on the turn

I would have to call with the read you have on him. I say he has A5

Well playing devil`s advocate if you think he has A-5 surely you should raise?
Know-nuffin

Against a loose player that could be on any two including 33, 55 or 42 I'd want more information from the betting than smooth calling twice can tell me.

I have no idea where I am in the hand so I'm folding.

I think a crying call would be better just in case he does have a hand. Then you could minimize your loss if he did hit big.

My head screams fold, fold, FOLD!  But when I take time to think about it, I probably call here.  The board defo favors the blinds but the bb knows this and may just be taking advantage of it.  Having a loose image, he may well bet middle pair as there is no paint on the board.  If his checks the turn he gives himself away and figures you won't chase the ace for that price.

The results are in the spoiler

Spoiler:

Ok here`s the real scoop.

This is a hand from High Stakes Poker. I just divided the bet amounts by 100 . It`s between Durrr and our new world champ Peter Eastgate. With Eastgate holding the A-6. Durrr was actually holding 67o and was very surprised to lose the hand when Eastgate just called on the river. It was clear from Durrr`s reaction and comments that he was amazed Eastgate hadn`t raised on the river.

Perhaps it highlights the difference between cash game players and tourney players. Or maybe Eastgate is just terrified of Durrr and wanted to play it safe.

If you haven`t seen the new episodes yet get on over to poker tube and watch them. Durrr is just amazing, he`s really tearing up the table atm

Tom`s reaction

The way Eastgate played the hand so passively after the flop
I get the impression he made a crying call there
He just never knew where he was

Well with Durrr I guess you never know what he might have. It was possible he`d flopped a straight. I think you`re right Eastgate wasn`t sure where he was but he missed the chance when he failed to bet the turn.

There`s a hand in episode 2 that Durrr pulls off an amazing steal against Eastgate and Barry Greenstein. He gets them both to lay down better hands. I`ve listened to Greenstein`s analysis of that hand on PokerRoad and he includes some thoughts about Eastgate.

Apparently He bought in for $500k and Barry thought the size of the buy-in was praying on his mind. I`ve no idea what stakes Eastgate has played before in cash games but it seems unlikely he`s played so high before. Against this lineup he would probably have been better buying in at the minimum of $200k and knowng he could re-buy if he went bust. Playing scared money against that table was a very bad idea.

I have seen Eastgate playing in a much smaller TV cash game where they bought in for about 10-20k Euros and he looked much more comfortable. I`m thinking he`s much more of a tourney than a cash game player.

Demidov is also due on HSP and I think he`ll be a much more interesting player to watch, and tougher to play against. He seems to have a lot of gamble in him.
