Just sent this back to them today

Dear
Party Team

Thank you for letting me know you have emptied my account for me, it saves me going to the tables and letting some fish do it,
There is just one thing i dont understand
You say you will be making another charge on my account on: 12-Jan-2009
As there are no monies in my account could you please send me the details of where i would need to manually send a cheque to give you the charges you would require or maybe you could just credit my account with $20 and then gradually take it back until we reach this situation again

Sincerely
xramsterx

p.s.
merry christmas
PoolDemon

lol, good one den, but hey, maybe you got like 0.13 cents in there, better rush & make a dep quick, better to feed the fish anyways
Ramster

I was surprised i had so much in there Rob
I thought it was about $1.50
But its been that long since i was there it might have made some interest

Are we sure this company is not located on American shores?  Sounds just like my bank.  They charge me to deposit my money, they charge me to take it out and they charge me to just let it sit there.
PoolDemon

when i withdraw from any poker site, I make sure to only leave pennies in it, that way nothing left for them to steal if I never go back there...

some sites we played on, only made a deposit to play OFC as an example, I always check out what the minimum withdrawal is, deposit more than needed, but an amount that if I don't play there at all, can make the withdrawal & leave virtually nothing left...(as they always make it even amounts on a dep. or withD...)

if your vindictive, deposit enough to make a 99.9% withdrawal so they can't steal that service charge

cute! reply , I wouldnt sign up with them now ,  I use to be a customer service supervisor for long distance company,We found that success came in rewarding our customers not making them pay a fine for unused service !       lol
Can you imagine giving up a active- depositing customer for 2 dollars and some cents, unbelieveable...aint the juice and adverts plenty? UNBELIEVABLE AND good luck with your next month statement!

cant wait to see there response !

Pretty standard policy amongst online rooms and at least they were courteous enought to send an e-mail notifying you rather than just taking the cash.

I completely understand why they do it. Imagine all the players that maybe play a freeroll or two, make a few cents and then stop playing. In that case the company is just recovering its own money that otherwise would sit in cyberspace for eternity. I would say it is a slightly different situation if you`ve deposited your own cash there.
PoolDemon

almost all of them have that kind of policy, whether you make a deposit or have freeroll winnings there, some are much easier to keep an account alive on though, as they only require you to log in once in awhile, no play required, others like PP make you play a raked hand or stuff like that at least once every 3 months or so...

The money i had there was from a deposit and the reason i didnt go there any more was that the tourney schedule had become over loaded with satelites and pot or fixed limit tourneys

I checked it out when i got this mail and the tourney schedule does look a lot better now

The only thing is i dont know now how i'm going to feed my family over xmas now that i have surrendered all that cash

I'm not particularly bothered about them taking the money it was just the bit where they said there would be a charge next month which made me laugh

If it is standard practice , then in my opinion it should be changed...just me ?
Is this a practice at the local or land based casino poker rooms , or only online sites...? dont know ..still odd way to do your paying and playing customers ......seems to me there is alot of money being made on the site already...and whats wrong with free!!! Free is what got me to there site in the first place , which leads to depositing when I have decided I like the site and players and schedule.  I deposit..and play , . things only change when general concensus decides its satisfactory or not! I say not...but If is the standard practice ..."WHILE IN ROME DO AS THE ROMANS DO"

I can`t answer for land based casinos. I believe most of the big Vegas casinos will hold money for a player but wether they charge for that service I`ve no idea. It`s not that comparable imo because B&M casinos don`t run too many freerolls and players don`t have accounts with them, they just go in and play and then cash out when they`re finished. The only comparable situation I can think of would be if the casino decided it was going to change the design of its chips and gave you so much time to cash any you had in your possession.

You have to remember the online rooms aren`t doing this every month. Your account has to be inactive for 6 months. The majority of the cash they recover would otherwise have gone out of the poker economy. Personally I`d rather they recovered that money to add to GTD games and freerolls than have it sitting in an account where it will never be used.
