PDC POKERPoker.com changes it name to PDC Poker
IMPORTANT USA LEGISLATION! POKER.COM REMAINS OPEN FOR BUSINESS!
You all would have heard about the new legislation passed by the US Congress late last Friday that attempts to prevent poker players from transferring funds to online gaming sites.
Some online poker / casino sites (predominantly public companies) have announced plans to remove the US market segment from their sites over the next few days. However, the passing of this act through Congress will have no immediate affect on operations at Poker.com. We are not currently planning to close the accounts of US players, and all funds within player accounts are perfectly safe and will always be readily accessible. We will continually monitor the legislative changes and obtain detailed legal advice on this situation, but for now it is business as usual.
Before you start playing at your regular poker site or if you want to start at an `easy to play' poker site go and have a look at www.poker.com
One of the biggest attractions of poker is that you play with other real people matching their skills and wits against each other.
A real buzz to those of you who prefer that, to playing the odds against the house, as in many other casino games.
You will find a very new and graphic software www.poker.com have developed it themselves using their industry experience and listening and understanding what the players want.
www.poker.com have made it easy to download and play………… they make full use of Macromedia's Flash download for great, realistic sound and graphics.
In developing the software themselves they have not only addressed players' desires but created virtual poker rooms and tables with graphic displays of reality……….you can almost smell the beige and the perfumed ladies……..so, dress up in your favourite holey pants, grab a cigar and a coldie and sit your wife/hubby (or whoever) on your knee and get playing.
For new poker players there is the choice of playing for `fun' if you just like the thrill of the game and where no real money is used.
If you wish to get serious and play to win real CASH…… Easy to organise banking: with instant payouts. Netteller, one of the internet's most respected banking facilities, is at your immediate service with an easy user guide, explaining how, and answering questions.
Poker.com have a thorough customer service for support, questions and suggestions. Also for reporting any system `bugs' that may come to your attention……….all poker.com's services are available 24/7………. Can't sleep…go and play while.
www.poker.com was voted the best 2004 poker site at http://www.onlinegambling.com/online-gambling-awards.htm in the company of some of the most revered and respected online casino sites.
Freeroll tournaments will be starting soon on www.poker.com . You will be able to enter tournaments at your leisure.
Perhaps you have shared in the excitement watching TV poker tournaments…….. well, do it yourself……….the adrenelin will really get moving then.

If anybody is making their 1st deposit, don't forget the new depositors $500 freeroll every night for your 1st 7 days, there was sometimes less than 200 in them when I was a new depositor about a month ago. I only played 3, finished 2nd once for $100 or so.
Also, if you play alot of cash games, it is pretty easy to get enough hands to play in the $2000, and $1000 freeroll each weekend and a $50,000 freeroll once a month.

I agree antesocial. I got in the money in 5 out of the seven days after my first deposit and made a tidy sum. IF you get ti around 4000 chips earlier just play tight and play only the big hands and your big blinds and you will make the money easily. About 6000 chips will almost certainly get you to the final table. I found only about 110 max in them the days i played. Happy earning

I really enjoy poker.com. The graphics have improved and their software upgrades are a huge bonus. I like the ability to change my seat, change the table size and the % on all-ins.
The cashout is instant and I think they have some of the best customer serives in the business.

I had an email from poker.com inviting me to help Beta test the next version of their software, version 4.0.
I downloaded it and so far I have been the only player there.
The problem is that it replaced the old version and now I cannot play the normal games on the site.

geez, that sucks...I hope they gave you some free $$ to play with when other players show up...that would suck if you deposited your own cash on there or do they allow you to use your original poker.com money?
I guess if I get an invite I'll have to turn it down.

The original mail said:
" Your Beta test account is already set up and has been credited with $1,000 Real money and $1,000 Play money so you can play any of our new games, "
It shows $1000 in my account instead of my old balance but they do not say if the Real money can ever be withdrawn and when I emailed them they only sent a standard reply without answering my question.
They say it will be going live early next year but I may uninstall it and re download the old version.

hmmmm, that was out of the blue.
i'll keep my eye on any news about this !

Well it seems poker.com is merging...................................
CarbonPoker.com
Q. What is CarbonPoker.com
A. CarbonPoker.com is the latest website on The Merge Gaming Network of poker websites. The Merge Gaming Network has up to 8500 poker players playing at any one time, and is aiming to be the largest poker network on the internet. The Merge Gaming Network uses the same excellent online poker software as Poker.com.
Q. What is happening to Poker.com?
A. The Poker.com software is no longer available for download from the Poker.com website, but existing players will be able to continue playing as normal and we are advertising the CarbonPoker.com brand on the new Poker.com website. Existing players may re-download the Poker.com software from within their player admin at Pokercs.com if necessary. We have no plans to close the Poker.com poker room.
Q. Does this mean the number of players online at Poker.com will decrease?
A. No, in fact we expect the network to continue growing. You may have noticed up to 8500 players online at Poker.com recently and we expect this number to continue growing throughout 2007. With more new brands on the way and the best online poker software available, our target is to grow the network to 50,000 players by 2008.
Q. Can Poker.com players open an account at CarbonPoker.com?
A. If you like you may open an account at CarbonPoker.com. The functionality is exactly the same as the Poker.com software. Please be aware that our automatic fraud control tools work across the brands. If your account or a payment method is held, simply communicate with support and they will ensure you are able to play hassle free.
Q. Is the Poker.com forum still operational?
A. The Poker.com forum will continue to operate at PokerCS.com - Poker.com Player Support & Player Admin and we may introduce a CarbonPoker.com forum in the future.
Q. Are my Player Account funds safe?
A. Of course! Player account funds are always 100% safe and secure. The same great team of staff as well as some new faces are managing CarbonPoker.com and the Merge Gaming Network.
The CarbonPoker.com Software

Saw this on another site:
'Poker.com sells its player base to Carbon Poker. Poker.com will go back to being an informational site and all players will be transferred to Carbon Poker in due time. This is very odd but I'm sure it has something to do with the recent US law.'
Also on the poker.com forum some affiliates are complaining they have not been told above this but poker.com say they have emailed all affiliates.

Hi Guys
I must just say please do not be afended any of our US members,or US ppl
Well i have just played in 2poker.com torneys, OK they were only $5 buy ins so lets stay real about it but at first i was doing well then i was pushed out on wat i feel to be bad beat and bingo calls, ie 9 10 2 on the flop, iam holding 9 10, so i up it 4 times the blind (blind 50 ) and i get a call. good. and a king comes on the turn so i go allin with1950 and i get called by 1200 DONT FORGET he just called my 200 rase, he turns up a K2 , iam like wat the f----k, is he doing calling 200 rase with only pairing a 2 and could crash out he must put me on at least a high pair.
Wat do u think?
so is it that US players like to take chances, and play more aggressive than euro players?
id love to hear wat u guys think?
The other torny was out in 30th i pushed in on a rase from another US player
i pushed in 600, i was in the blind of 100 he rased i whent in and got
called by 66 i was holding AQ his 66 held up? go figure.
So guys let me know
is it cos it was only $5 buy ins? ( chances can be taken)
is it cos there aggressive?
or just luky?
My self i think that US players do play more aggressive then
euro players, and small entry tornys atract the gambler.
soi whent and played on Bugsy for a while as there are a lot of US ppl on there and there are torneys that start with 10,000. 5,000. 3,000 chips
and i played as
not to be i pushed around
play and i faired better i came 4th in my last torny i like the site.

No offense taken from a US player. I agree with you on the 1st call with only the pair of 2's but I have seen many hands won with no pairs. You don't mention the blinds or chip stacks so it’s kind of hard to tell how bad of a call the person made. As for the 2nd game I think you were the aggressive player by pushing all-in with AQ after a pre-raise. I think you were a slight underdog pre-flop. I have not seen any difference in US and European players. The only really aggressive play I've seen in from Romanian players. For some reason they seem to go in on almost anything and at any time in a tourney.

guys, i think these last 2 posts (and it's a good subject) are really a "poker lounge" thing so i have copy / pasted your 2 posts into a new subject thread so we can continue the discussion there :
Where do the most aggressive players come from ?
please try to keep on thread if possible. thx a lot. H.
