Poker Stars Million Dollar Men QualifiersI logged in to PS earlier tonight and noticed the Million Dollar Men Qualifier. I decided to give it a shot...along with 14,999 other people. The only prize is a ticket to the next round of the qualifier and it goes to the top 300 people. I had some good luck today and here is my email:

The blinds go up every 5 minutes so it really wasn't too bad. I think it was about 3 1/2 hours or so. The email says I won the tournament, but really it says that to everyone that qualified. When it ended I was in 160th place.

Well the second qualifier was today. There were 8685 people in this one. It paid $5 for finishing between 2001-3000, $10 for finishing 1001-2000, and $15 and a seat in the next round for finishing in the top 1000. Hopefully my streak will continue. In this tournament the blinds went up every 10 minutes but it still took less than 3 hours to finish. I had some huge hands early and was a sit-out for most of it. I did sit out too long though and was forced to push all-in with AK with about 200 people to go before the money. Luckily I rivered a K against 88 and coasted the rest of the way.

Well started the tournament pretty well. Was at 5200 chips at first break, started with 2000. I had to leave and sit out for a while....my parents wanted me, my wife, and the baby over for an early birthday dinner for me. By the time I made it over to my parent's house I had been blinded really bad. I was at around 2700. Managed to double one more but couldn't get anything going. I ended up in 465th out of 2998. I got $50 for my effort but really wish I could have devoted the whole day to the tournament. I have been running pretty good lately. Oh well, $50 for free is always nice.
