. . . forunately on this occasion I was a lucky idiot.

I`m playing the miniFTOPS 7stud8b tourney later tonight. As it`s been a while since I played any stud8b I thought I`d try and get in a few practice hands. So I went over to AP and looked for a sng but none seemed to be filling up. I did find a tourney but that didn`t start for about an hour.

So I decided I`d look on Stars. Instead of a sng I went to a .10/.20 cash table and sat down.

So picture the scene. I`ve been playing for about 20 minutes and I`m up to just over $6 (started with $4). Then I river a low but decide just to call. The winner turns over broadway and I figure my low is good for half the pot. Well the entire pot ships over to this guy. It`s only then that I realise I`m at a regular stud table, not an 8b table.

Idiotic for sure but very funny when you consider how much I won in such a small time, all the while playing the wrong game

LOL, your not the only 1 mate, I did that once B4 playing Omaha, turned the nut low with a flush possible, then watched as on the river all the chips went to the villain who knew what game we were playing, DOH...

Ok, I'll share some real idiocy with you. When I first decided to try poker online, the very first tournament I registered for was O8. I had yet figure out the client and I assumed Omaha was the name of tournament, not the name of the game. I'd never heard of Omaha, didn't know how to play it, and couldn't figure out why i wasn't winning with the nutz. The four clubs in my hand along with the one on the board was way better than the next guys str8 ffs. And the odd hand I did win, half the flippin' pot went to someone else. wtf was that all about? Thank god that site doesn't allow USA players because I could never show my face around there again.
