Squeeze Play questions

I must remember that in small buy in tourneys most of the time (I'd say 90%) the players are not doing a squeeze play. They have a monster in those situations where in a bigger tourney the likelihood is that a squeeze play is being attempted.

Now that i am trying to play some bigger tourneys (lets say $100+) how often do you think (in general- I know it depends on the table, oppts, etc) players in squeeze play situations are actually doing a squeeze play? My guess: closer to 33%.

I don't play buy-ins at that level so can't add too much.

I'd be wary of working to percentages too much reasoning, it is your skills which have earned you enough to play at the buy-in level you mention, so you must already be doing something right.

Keep doing what works.

Like KN I don`t play at those levels so I can`t really offer too much advice. I do think you`re probably right about the lower buy-ins. The squeeze play isn`t used that often without a strong hand.

Obviously if you`re going to attempt it you should have some idea that the players involved in the hand have the capacity to lay down their hands.

From what I hear of the bigger online tournies 3 or 4 betting with relatively weak holdings is becoming more common. With that in mind and the fact the better players will recognise the move I wouldn`t advise over using it.
