The Live Poker Hand ThreadHey everyone,
I thought it would be fun to run a live poker hand thread, where we can all offer strategy advice on the poker play, using a real poker hand as an example. 
To do this, I have randomly put out a number of chips for each player;  then shuffled and dealt six hands on a table at home;  we can take the play as it occurs for anyone to post how they would play it. 
These are the cards as they were dealt, although I have taken the liberty of selecting a deal that has potential;  I have seen all the pocket cards, but do not know what the flop, turn or river is. 
I may make the play (check/bet/raise/fold) based on the idea of first person to post,  or on a consensus if there are some interesting choices and plenty of suggestions. :q67: (Please don’t suggest the anatomically impossible)  #If there is an obvious early pre-flop fold, I may do that to save time.
For the purposes of the fun we can assume it is a cash table.  And akin to a televised event, we will see the hands as the action moves around the table.
To make things easier to follow than player A - player B etc, I have dug out the players from The MLP-Asylum $1000 Freeroll Tournament. :q68: Here are the seated players, their style and the stack sizes.
Big Sweet Corn: (dealer) Tigger: posts SB $0.10 Chicken: posts BB $0.20 Snoopy: (Ad2s) Fold Animal: (Kd6s) Fold Little Ted: (Jh9h) raises to $0.40 Big Weet Corn: (4d6c) Fold Tigger: (SB) (9d7s) Fold Chicken: (BB) (2h2c) smooth calls The Flop: (Js 2d 9s) Chicken: #info added since the original post will be in orange and bold. to really make this interesting, y not get 6 people interested in playing imaginary hands, tell each player what they where dealt, & have them play it out accordingly...
After the hand ends, then display all the hands... in this instance, Den folds A2 UTG, we shouldn't know what he folds or plays until all is finished, & we should bet as if we were really playing this hand... just a thought... |

Thanks for the idea Rob, that's for another day. This way is more like the High stakes poker we see on TV with Texas Dolly and David Williams ...except ...it's ...low stakes ... and fluffy toys. How often have you screamed at the screen Fold, Raise etc when watching those games... well now is your chance to be heard.

Okay, some can argue with a rag from UTG six handed, but I guess snoopy will be worried about an aggressive pre-flop raise by a later order player.
Ramster has Folded Snoopy. Animal shows (Kd6s) .... I'll fold that too. Little Ted (Jh9h) hmmmm suited connected from the cut off. What do we do with this. I expect several ideas on how to play it. |

May I remind you I am known as Little 'shark' Ted. I can adopt the tight aggresive style but I aint no saint. I fink a raise here is in order. How much though. BB is 20 so should I rasie it up to 60 or 80 cents? |

Hmmmm, an interesting one.
Not the best cards BUT suited gappers none the less and if you just limp here you may not know where you are after a low flop. I think I would be tempted to put on a raise here, perhaps just minimum (I can hear Brian cringing already) but it might be enough to steal the button. |

There seems to be a consensus to raise it up.

Let's go with the wimpy single raise. Big Sweet Corn from the button has (4d6c) any suggestion mura...  nah... I think we can take that as a fold

I'd like a second opinion on that, because the flop has suited gappers. Would some kind of investment be better on this round ? 
Anyone else want to play it cute;  if not how much should Chicken bet.

Hmmm, flopping a set you have got to feel good but a couple of suited connectors may give you cause for alarm.
With chicken sstack size he may consider that any bet will be called by Ted BUT right now he has a set and must feel that he is ahead. I think he has got to put on something, to test the water, infact he might be tempted to go all in giving Ted a decision to make. Perhaps he would put on at least $0.60. |
