The Poker Detective ep.1

Thought I`d try doing something a little different with hand histories. So in this thread and if people seem interested, in future threads I`m going to post a hand but leave out the details of what the other person is holding.

The idea is to see if you can work out what the other person has and if a call is the right option. Also feel free to comment on how the hand was played.

I`ll leave the hand incomplete for a while and post the results in a spoiler later on.

Here`s the first hand. I`ve only included details of the main protagonists.

Blinds are at 50/100 no antes

I`m utg+3 and have Ad Jh I have 6105 chips I raise to 340.

Action folds round to the SB who calls for 290.

The BB also calls  (DWG has 4,575 chips)

The pot is now 1020

The flop comes Jd 10d Ac

SB checks
BB (DWG) bets 666
I call
SB folds

The pot is now 2352

The turn is 6h

BB (DWG) bets 1120

I re-raise to 2240

BB goes all in for 2249

It`s 1329 to call. Do you call and what do you think he has?
Miklosik

pocket 6's.  His bet told you what he was praying for.

hehehe, 666, i've done bets like that before but not holding 66 as the bet would make you think...

there is too much in the pot to not call, imo, even if they have a straight or trips...maybe your behind, maybe they only have AK...
HOUSECATS

I would call. I think he has 89 for open end str8

I`m surprised no-one put him on KQ. It was the first thing that leapt into my head when he bet out.

When he bet roughly the same size bet on the turn I thought I detected a little weakness and decided to re-pop it and see what he`d do.  As shown he pushed and I was left with a relatively small call for a large pot. As Rob said I pretty much had to call and did.

He had Jc Tc

The river was a blank and I took down a nice pot.

"even if they have a straight or trips" is what I wrote, KQ was 4 a straight...
