Missie Hen: shows [Qc 6d Qh 6h] (HI: four of a kind, Sixes)
Missie Hen collected 665 from pot
Bright Aura collected 664 from pot
From early seat playing O8 I limped with a speculative hand that flopped a set and so called Bright Auras all-in as did one other.
When I turned quads, in the heat of the moment I tried to kill the hand to prevent a low card coming to the board ensuring I took the whole pot, pushing the other off their hand in the process.
The question is, was this right?
As Bright Aura was already all-in, whatever was going to happen couldn't be changed, so my bet pushed basil04 off. As I couldn't win a low pot assuming one came, would it have been best to check it down, or even put a small bet on so I had a chance to earn from basil04 if he was going for the high only or missed a low draw.
I think my over bet was wrong but as I said; in the heat of the moment and all that.
Looking back now, I guess that if there had been more than just one other active player in the hand it would have definately been worthwhile trying to extract more into a side pot.
Sometimes these split pot games move too fast for my little brain!

First advice is next time you get QQ66 throw it away . It`s not a playable hand for Om8b.
Not really familiar with NL Om8b, it`s strictly a FL game for me but fwiw.
I might have been tempted to check the turn and see if the other player improved on the river. True you might let him end up with a low hand but as you pointed out there`s already an all-in player who might have a low draw and you can`t get a low hand. The overbet is a mistake, if you are going to bet there, bet for value. Give him some pot odds to chase a draw
Nothing wrong with betting even with an all-in at this stage of a tourney though. That strategy mainly applies at the end of tournies when you`re in the money or very close to it.

well as you said, you played a "speculative hand", with 2 low cards dealt on the flop, & you playing a hand without the chance of the low side, you already know your splitting it...betting large doesn't get the all in out of the low draw, so like Neil says, check or bet low for value here...

Thanks for the comments guys.
If I'd have had time to think I would have just done that small value bet like you say DM.
One of those hands that had me thinking long after it was over.
