was this a bad calli got razzed by some players on the following hand, nobody said anything about the player I beat having played 9-5 off suit from mid table. i had notes on this player that he plays almost anything, & that he overbets bottom pairs etc...
This was a 9 player sitngo NLTH, $3.30 buy in, the table was playing loose with a lot of limped pots, i limped with ace rag suited UTG, total with blinds were 5 callers, 2 spades on the flop & a 5, all checked to mr9-5, who bets 250 into a pot of 150, all fold except me, turn is another spade, I check, he bets 500, i call, a duck on the river, he still only has 2nd bottom pair, i check, he's all in, of course i call, only an unlikely straight flush was possible, so i win.
1st he rags about me calling his 250 bet (now against a TAG player, easy fold, but not against this guy) then to show how little they paid attention to the hand another player typed runner runner fish, 2 funny as i did hit on the turn, not runner runner DOH...
I also got laughed at for keeping notes, which paid me off as i won it, the hand and the game, just too funny i thought as notes are a good thing to have...
so long story almost over, I basically said, against a player like that, with the notes i had on him, i did the right thing i think, as i felt I had 9 to 12 outs for the win (roughly 45% for the turn & 25% to hit the river)
the call was based just as much on the potential draw, as it was on my notes that i had on this player, so based only on that, was it a bad call as the pot was overbet, or a good call ?

Taking notes should be a mandatory part of your online game. So I wouldnt even worry about that...
As for your call, I think in any normal situation, this is an automatic fold. But considering your info on the player...calling the flop bet is OK and if you miss you should be done with the hand.
Otherwise, played well.

thanks, yeah i still shake my head at that one, but notes, not just a fishy symbol or red tag are a def requirement, & not just from my play against them, but how they play others when it gets shown down too

I don't keep notes. But by reading this I guess I should.
So what is the best way to keep notes?
with out writing a book on them so that it is easy to understand

if there's an option to tag a player, wether color codes or symbols, use that as a start.
in the notes box, make some abreviations that you can remember, so that you don't need to write a book's worth of notes.
ex :
OB pot BP (or MP)
if I see a player go to show down more than once so I know what they had, the above tells me the player hit bottom pair, or middle pair on the flop, & over bet it, (on more than 1 occasion) that's my code for it, which is among a few things I noted on that player in question in this pot, he was color coded yellow for maniac, I use red for donk, & green for rock...
WNFD will not fold flush draw
you get the idea, but important to note, these are first added with a ? mark, if it happens again, remove the ? mark as it's a regualr thing...notes are no good for a 1 time occurance...
