What are you doing to improve your gameAre there specific areas you are working on to better your play.
Do you adopt a different style of play as a way to test yourself or try to see how another style of player is thinking.
Are you reading a poker strategy or tips book.

One thing I've been working on for a while now is playing hands better in position. I don't think I'm extracting as much value as I could.
Another is playing to win, or at least to place high rather than trying to cash first and then move up. This is simple enough conceptually, but not as easy in the actual implementation. For instance, it's simple to understand "be more aggressive as the bubble approaches", but not so straightforward in terms of figuring out how much more aggressive to be against various types of players, from which positions, and other actual specifics so that they become more natural.

This is something I`ve been working on too. More specifically I`ve been trying to make sure I make the right play at the right time and if it goes wrong so be it at least I know it was the right move. Isn`t that what Doyle says?
"Poker isn`t about winning or losing, it`s about making the right decision at the right time".

Interesting you mention position Arjon.
With the MLP mini league having us playing 5 card draw it has re focused my thinking in that area specifically what strength the button has.
On some micro 5 card draw cash tables, I found using the button made it so easy to double my buy-in in only a few minutes.

Intellectually, it's not difficult to understand that position is important and that having it is an advantage. What's tougher - for me at least - is improving my ability to use this advantage, which involves getting better at separating situations where the advantage is greater. A simple example is that you can float someone who usually continuation bets if you know they typically check the turn when they've missed, but to do this more effectively, you have to separate out people who'll fire twice despite missing, and also those who like to check-raise the turn.

I found some of the most useful advice came from the chat room while MLP (Harry and Mura) experts were watching me play. I've tried a few of the nuggets they pasted on and have been having my best run of cashes ever the past month or so. Thanks guys.

i read this books
1-The Super System (Doyles Brunson)
2-The Teory of poker and Holdem for advanced players (David Sklanky)
3-Little green book (Phill gordon)
4-Harrington on Holdem (vol 1 &2) i think this is a great book, but all in general help me very much.
All have something interesting like Pot odds, bet, raise, reraise, check-raise, blufs, % for win with diferent cards, positions, examples hands in wsop tournaments, what you will do in each case and why, how play diferent the same hands, type of players and tables, how change from one style to another, how play in limited an no limit games, tournaments an rings and several more stuff.
Super System and Teory of Poker are for all games (Holdem, Razz, omaha, Stud, etc), the others are for Holdem.
Everytime i read and reread each book understand something new. The problem is, when im playing i forget all
Gus Hansen book is for all games?

Yeah we have the sklansky book and the super system II. I much prefer the conversational style of the super system, plus it is written by more than one pro which gives alternate views.
