would you have folded here ?scenerio, live tourny, FT of big tourny, utg is very tight, raises 3x the BB (he always raises this amount, unless not the right amount of chips, then he pushes) loose player next to him calls, your in mid position holding AQ os, having just under 20K in chips, BB is 1K.
If you called, flop is A,Q,J, 2 hearts, you have Qh.
utg checks flop, next player pushes all in for 17K, if you stayed in your more than likely calling too, utg called all in, holding AA, other player had QJ of spades, utg's set held up.
I had instantly put UTG on AA when he bet PF, but not all can read players well & no bad thing to say if you choose to call or push here PF, & call all in off the flop (if not already all in), I went with my gut feeling that my strong hand was no good.
By folding this hand though, I won a poopload of cash as I won the event, & I figure, it's not only the big pots you win, but the pots you stay out of that can win you a tourny...
I see many that play very aggresive, & will never fold a bigger ace, they would have pushed PF here, & lost...
so, obvioulsy it was a good fold, but if UTG held AK, it would have been a winning hand...
so any thoughts on this???

This one is tough. Kudos on the fold. I probably would have called the pre flop. But never would I have pushed with it in middle postion with one raise already out there. Unless really short, which you weren't. My feelings post flop are that any more than two players in the hand AQo is a check if they let me and a fold if they bet. Especially with that board. The two pair look really nice unless you stop and think of exactly how many hands have you beat already.

Congrats on the cash and the read Rob.
A-Q is hard to let go pre-flop on an F-T, but is not a calling hand against someone you have marked as tight.
