bad beats at carbon

I was recentley playing a freeroll at carbon. Me and this other guy were the last two left. I had like 20 something thousand and he had about 5k. Anyways I was rivered at least 5 times in a row to lose the tournament. Horrible

I've been doing terrible at merge the last two months or so.
I think a few people have figured out their RNG and know what cards are coming up.
I have seen a few software cheat programs that claim to be able to tell what the next card is and this seems to be what is happening at merge.

why do people think that AK is the be all end all of starting hands, this early in a tourney?
